The SKSCA is a volunteer-based 501c3 non-profit association that helps promote and facilitate friendly relations between Seattle and our sister city of Kobe, Japan. Founded in 1957, the Seattle-Kobe relationship was the first such partnership for both cities. The exchanges between our two cities are many and varied, ranging from cultural and educational to business and governmental. Our sister city relationship is buoyed by our sister state and sister port relationships, by the presence of government offices of the city of Kobe and Hyogo Prefecture here in Seattle, and by longstanding partnerships between many community organizations. SKSCA fosters programs and exchanges that help build friendships between the people of our two cities, and is always looking to connect with people who have an interest in or connection with the Kobe area.
